Devika Jyothi said...

Yeah, liked it.

I take it in the context of the Nuclear deal, the latest 'NOing.'

'NOing' seems an universality of us, so is the cartoon.

good work!

RiverSoul said...

Wow.
Each face is different.
Brilliant.
R.K. Lakshman Sir would be pleased.;)

And it truly describes the condition of the nation, and its lack of determination, its total Inappreciation for the independent notion and finally, its lack of national integration.

This reminds me mario miranda's cartoons. There is a place in Mumbai called Cafe Mondegar... drinking hole basically but the walls are covered with similar stuff...

Are you also a free lance cartoonist by chance?

I just finished reading Six Suspects by Vikas Swarup... loved it... if you like murder (and the mystery part as well;)) pick it up.

Howz ur kid by the way? must be expert by now in picking poo :-P

Dear blogger baby, you did a great job and you were as right in 1998 as you are now. Scanning is excellent and so is the drawing.
Loved it.

Pinku said...

lovely ....while at it I wish we would actually say no to a few things like smoking, communalism (and perhaps also communism seeing the state it is in), alcohol and sepratist tendencies growing all over the country like wild mushrooms...maybe 'noing' too would be great then.

Ganges said...

oh yeah...i liked this post, but india is a democracy,it is but healthy that some people are always opposed to some things because different things affect the soceity in different ways, specially when they have their own pros n cons
But at the same time, i'm somehow losing faith in our system(not in the concept of democracy however)...its degrading to opurtunism and reckless 'loot'...i think that is what this pic signifies...there need to be some reforms...i cant even think that mayawati could be in the election race for pm...gawd!

man in painting said...

@ayushi...
you have interpreted it in so many ways..
so cool..
